How to Play Space XY, One Round at a Time

If you have opened Space XY and wondered what all the fields under the rocket graph do, this guide walks through a round from the first click to the explosion. It covers the betting panel, the second bet, auto cash-out, and the mistakes new players make in the first ten minutes. The best place to follow along is the free demo, where nothing you click costs money.

We are an independent educational site and have no affiliation with BGaming or any operator.

The Goal of Every Round

A Space XY round has one rule. The rocket launches, the multiplier climbs from 1.00x, and at some random point the rocket explodes. If you cash out before that moment, you receive your stake multiplied by the number on screen. If you are still in when it explodes, the stake is gone.

That is the whole game. There are no symbols, paylines or bonus rounds. The skill people imagine is mostly timing, and timing cannot change the long-run odds.

Step 1: Read the Screen Before You Bet

Spend a minute just watching. You will see:

  • The graph. The rocket starts in the lower-left corner. Seconds tick along the horizontal axis; the multiplier rises on the vertical axis.
  • The live multiplier. The large number that grows as the rocket flies.
  • Recent results. A row of previous crash multipliers. Treat it as a history log, not a forecast. Past rounds have no influence on the next one.
  • The betting panel. Stake controls, a bet button, and auto cash-out options, with room for a second bet.

Step 2: Set Your Stake

Bets are placed in the short break between rounds. Use the plus and minus controls or type an amount. Minimum and maximum stakes are set by the casino and the currency, so check the limits shown in your version of the game rather than relying on a number from a review.

Decide your stake before the round, not during a streak. A useful habit: pick a fixed amount that is a small fraction of your session budget and do not change it in reaction to wins or losses.

Step 3: Choose Manual or Automatic Cash-Out

You have two ways to collect.

MethodHow it worksMain risk
ManualPress the cash-out button while the rocket is flyingHesitation; the rocket can explode in the moment you wait
Auto cash-outEnter a target such as 1.80x before the round; the game collects automatically when the multiplier reaches itIf the rocket explodes before your target, you lose the stake

Auto cash-out removes reaction time from the equation. It does not make a target safer. A 1.80x target collects more often than a 5.00x target but pays less each time, and on average both lose the same share of what you wager.

Step 4: Use the Second Bet (Optional)

Space XY lets you place up to two bets in the same round, each with its own stake and its own cash-out choice. Players often set one low auto cash-out and leave the other on a higher target or manual control.

Be clear about what this does. Two bets means two separate wagers, so you are putting more money at risk per round. It spreads outcomes but adds no edge. If you are learning, start with one bet only.

Step 5: Watch the Round

Once the countdown ends, bets lock and the rocket lifts off. While it climbs:

  1. The cash-out button shows your current potential payout.
  2. Pressing it ends your participation for that bet at the current multiplier.
  3. If you set auto cash-out, you will see it trigger at the target.
  4. When the rocket explodes, the curve freezes and any open bet is settled as a loss.

Some rounds end at 1.00x, almost immediately. That is part of the game, not a glitch.

Step 6: Autoplay, If You Use It

Space XY includes an automatic betting option that repeats your stake for a set number of rounds. Autoplay makes rounds go by faster, which means more wagers per hour and therefore more house edge paid per hour. If you use it at all, set a small number of rounds and a stop condition, and never use it in real-money play as a way to "grind" toward a goal.

A Sample Round, Start to Finish

Say you are in demo mode with a stake of 10 credits on the first panel and auto cash-out at 1.60x, and 5 credits on the second panel left on manual. The countdown ends and the rocket lifts off. At 1.60x the first bet collects 16 credits automatically. The second bet is still riding, so you watch the curve steepen and press cash-out at 2.40x, collecting 12 credits. Had the rocket exploded at 1.45x instead, both bets would have lost: 15 credits gone in under two seconds. Running this kind of scenario a few times in demo teaches more than any written rule.

Common Beginner Mistakes

  • Reading the history row as a pattern. Ten low results in a row do not make a high one more likely. Each round is independent.
  • Raising stakes after a loss. This is the start of most chasing spirals, and it changes nothing about the odds.
  • Forgetting the second bet is [real money](/spacexy/spacexy-real-money). Two bets per round doubles exposure.
  • Ignoring the win cap. BGaming lists a maximum win of 250,000. A large stake cannot ride the full 10,000x.
  • Skipping the rules panel. Bet limits and settings can differ between casinos. Read the in-game rules once before playing.

Responsible Gambling

This guide explains the rules for educational purposes and does not encourage gambling. Every Space XY round carries a house edge, so the expected long-run result is a loss. Set limits before you start, never chase losses, and seek help from organisations such as BeGambleAware or Gamblers Anonymous if gambling stops being fun. Play only if you are of legal age where you live.

Frequently Asked Questions

You win a bet by cashing out before the rocket explodes. The payout is your stake times the multiplier at that moment.
Yes. You can place up to two bets per round, each with its own stake and cash-out setting. Both carry the house edge.
It collects a bet automatically when the multiplier reaches the target you entered. If the rocket explodes first, the bet loses.
Some rounds end instantly. That is a normal outcome, and every open bet in such a round loses regardless of its target.
